Music

The Middle and Upper School Choral Music Program is designed to develop an appreciation for a wide variety of the world’s music through vocal performance. The focus of the curriculum is to instill a broad understanding of musical elements through the study of: theory, sight-singing, ear training, analysis of scores, vocal production, performance strategy and technique, conducting, composing, audition strategy and technique, critical listening, critical listening, choral sound, and expressive interpretation and the world’s languages.

Both choirs will be given the opportunity to audition for the Murray State University Quad-State Honors Choirs, attend the Austin Peay State University Choirfest, University of Kentucky All- Male Chorus Day, perform two formal concerts a year, and participate in several school events, such as the school musical, as well as several community events.
