Lower School Music
All students in the Lower School at UHA receive music instruction two times per week. The curriculum includes exposure to many genres of music with an emphasis on grade/age appropriate repertoire songs. UHA is a multicultural school and students are introduced to musical styles from many nations.
All classes have musical experiences that teach basic music concepts and terminology. The basis for all instruction is singing and learning how to use a good singing voice. Classroom instruments are used frequently. Movement is also an important part of the classroom experience.
A Christmas musical is presented for the community each year and a large scale musical is presented each spring. These performances include every student in the Lower School and give them an introduction to basic musical theater.
Lower school musical experiences are offered to help each student develop their own gifts and talents and an appreciation for the talents of others.
