Kloe Freeman, junior at University Heights Academy has been accepted as a STriVE summer teen volunteer at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.  She will participate in this program during the month of July.  Out of approximately 60 applicants, Kloe was one of 16 selected for this program.  STriVE offers valuable insight into a variety of healthcare professions and gives the opportunity to work in multiple areas of the hospital with patients, siblings, and family members.  The selection process consists of a multidisciplinary team of hospital staff reviewing all volunteer packets combined with personal interviews of each applicant.  Selection criteria includes previous volunteer and work experiences, GPA, leadership positions as a student, communication skills, ability to take initiative and interest in spending time with hospitalized children and their families.
