Alex Keys, a freshman at University Heights Academy, has been chosen to serve as a delegate for the Commonwealth of Kentucky at the Council on National Affairs (CONA) in North Carolina this summer. He was chosen out of an application pool of 98 students from across the state, to fill the team of 25 students, and one of only three freshman delegates. During the six day conference, students will gain an awareness of National concerns and issues, increase their understanding of the Federal Government and its relation to State, National and International matters, develop and use a means for communicating concerns about National Affairs to appropriate persons and groups at Federal Government levels, develop increased understanding of needs, responsibilities and opportunities, and work creatively together with young adults and adults.
