UHA Junior Alex Keys was among 137 high school juniors from across Kentucky who visited the commonwealth’s capitol as part of the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperative’s Frankfort Youth Tour on April 16th.
The program brings together students selected from their local electric cooperatives to tour Frankfort and learn about state government.
Alex is also one of two students from Christian County who was selected by Pennyrile Electric to participate in a week-long, expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. during the summer. Over 1,500 students from all across America have met testing requirements to take part in the Youth Tour. As part of the tour, Alex will meet United States Representatives and Senators. This unique trip will give him the opportunity to watch history come alive as he visits museums, memorials and monuments with other students from Kentucky.
