Despite UHA’s relatively small student body numbers, the school is seeing big successes in their Advanced Placement courses and test scores. Out of the 64 juniors and seniors attending UHA in 2010-2011, 47 students chose to enroll in one or more of the 8 Advanced Placement courses offered at UHA (AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Government, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, AP Psychology, AP U.S. History). In total 66 AP tests were taken last May and the results were impressive. 43 of the 66 tests were passed with a score of 3 or higher, and some students passed multiple tests with 4s and 5s. 12 of the 66 tests resulted in 5s, 5 were scored 4s, and 26 made 3s. All students taking AP Calculus and AP Government passed their exams. AP teachers attribute student success to smaller class sizes, intense rigor of course material, and strong student work ethic. This year 67 AP tests will be taken by students who are enrolled in one or more AP courses.

Seniors went on to excel at the ACT, posting an average well above the district, state, and national averages. The averages of the ACT composite scores for each level are as follows:

  • UHA:
    • 23.7
  • District:
    • 18.3
  • State:
    • 19.6
  • National:
    • 21.1

University Heights Academy would like to congratulate the graduates of 2011 on their outstanding scores and wishes them well in their continued pursuit of achieving excellence in higher education.
